What is photography? We can get technical and say that it is the study of light. Or the study of posing, rule of thirds, the exposure triangle, and the list could go on. But when I googled the definition, this is what Google told me: “the ART or practice of taking and processing photographs.” Ah, nailed it. The ART of taking photographs.
So let us go down a rabbit hole. What is ART? In my humble, but usually right opinion (just kidding, sort of), art is subjective and art is a creation made by a creator. As some of you that know me may know, I decided to put my art on hold while focusing on a new job that I got back in 2019. While it taught me a heck of a lot, and I am immensely grateful for the experience, I did lose myself a little.
It was emotionally demanding, fast paced, and needed every bit of my brain that I would allow it to take. So with a family and a job that demanded so much of me, something was going to give and that was my art.
Fast forward to 2022, and here I am, creating again. I am inspired and am so excited to be on this journey. I told myself — by re-opening this side of me, I want to create for ME. Not for what I think is popular, not for the masses, not to do it as a business that supports me and my family.. but for ME. I want to create images and work that I find to be beautiful.
So follow along with me here in Prosper, Tx while I take pictures of connection, your beautiful families and high school seniors. My focus is on who you are as a unit or a person and to showcase that in imagery.
I got a small taste of creating a few months back with Peyton. Her mom is a dear friend of mine, and in turn, she is too. She had a vision, and I had a vision and the images below is what we came up with together. Magical, eh?
I hope you enjoy <3
